For stairway installation, use the included hardware for added safety. Recommended tools for hardware installation (not included) include a drill, Phillips-head screwdriver, pencil, and measuring tape. Please note that the gate may appear bent initially, but this is not a defect and will be rectified with proper installation.

The gate fits openings 36-60" and is 30" tall; be sure to measure your opening before purchasing to ensure a proper fit. The gate can be used in doorways, hallways, at the top or bottom of stairs, on walls, or flat banisters with the included hardware kit.

The 27" extra-wide door can swing in both directions and stays open when engaged at over 90 degrees. It automatically closes if opened less than 90 degrees, and a stopper prevents the door from swinging over stairs when installed at the top. The door locks securely with narrowly spaced bars to prevent babies, toddlers, and pets from squeezing through. Adults can easily open the door with one hand by engaging the latch and pulling up on the door.

Please be aware that this gate will not fit openings of 39-40", 46-46.75", or 56-56.75". It has been third-party safety tested and approved for your peace of mind.
